October 30 Caps Power Rankings

TSN.ca ranks Capitals at #15:

Balance is not the name of the game on the Beltway, as the Caps have seen the Alexanders score 14 of the team's 31 goals. A little help, please! Key Injuries: None

ESPN.com ranks Capitals at #22:
With the two big Alexes at work (Semin and Ovechkin) and Olaf Kolzig in net, this team works hard every night, keeping them out of our Chateau Bow-Wow for the time being.

TSN acknowledges that the Alexes are the ones getting the goals for WSH, but they forget that the Caps are tops in the league in goals/game. There's not much to worry about with Semin and Ovechkin teaming up and the rest of the group chipping in when need be (note, tonight it was Zednik and Zubrus getting the goals).
ESPN's ranking makes it seem that the Caps are a fluky team that will end up in the bottom of the rankings soon. But they have played well against some stiff opposition early in the season. Their combined opponents record is 59-42-11. There are many teams ranked above the Caps with .500 and sub-.500 records.
