It's hard to put the Caps ahead of teams like the Canucks, Senators, and Flames, all of whom have the same number of points (4) as the Cappies. Sure, the Caps are a .500 team, but they couldn't seal the deal in OT against the Wild or the Thrashers.

As for key injuries, Matt Pettinger, our third highest forward scorer returning from last year still has not played. His return will take some of the pressure off Semin and Ovechkin.
